Patiala Taxi Stand is a registered taxi stand by the Govt. of Punjab started in 1998 when a group of like minded people brought eight sumo taxis with all India permit. In the year 2001 it was registered and the deputy commissioner of Patiala allotted the land to setup the taxi stand in Patiala
Earlier way back in 1977, the same land was used as a Tanga Stand (Horse Cart Stand) and was one of the most popular tanga stand of the area. With passage of time, the use of Tanga’s saw a sharp decline and people started to use cars to move around.
Today Patiala Taxi Stand is one of the very few registered taxi stands in Patiala and has a fleet of more than 50 vehicles including SUV, Sedan, Tempo Travelers etc.
